THE OPPORTUNITY:

The ideal successful candidate will be someone who has extensive Managerial experience working within a Canadian Public firm. The potential candidate will have the ambition to be succession planned into partnership in the near future. The timing will depend on the candidate’s determination and progression of learning. The potential candidate will also enjoy living in a beautiful rural area in Northern Ontario (Dryden).

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

-Oversee and manage client audits, accounting and corporate taxation needs.
-Apply appropriate industry and business knowledge in addressing and identifying clients business needs.
-Sector experience: pubic sector, entities (municipalities, school boards, hospitals, non for profit, listed entities and other privately owned entities.
-Plan, prepare, execute and analyze financial statements including appropriate note disclosure.
-Identify clients’ needs using marketing tools and effectively build and develop new business.
-Research technical needs when regards to clients business situation.
-Supervise assurance, accounting or tax project related to client’s needs.
-Provide both technical and project management leadership skills to team members.
-Provide exceptional service with regards to audits, reviews, compilations, or special reports to clients.
-Manage team workload requirements and provide assistance to Partners in reviewing staff members.
-Work closely with clients including attending client and audit meetings, preparation of management letters and related correspondence.
-Work independently on ore difficult corporate projects related to taxation and Assurance, when necessary.
-Deliver financial statements and working paper files in accordance with firm standards in a timely and effective manner.
-Develop and manage a client base.
-Prepare analyze and complete various tax returns.

COMPENSATION:

Commensurate upon experience.

EDUCATION:

-CPA/CA designation.
-Undergraduate or Graduate Degree.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-5+ years experience in a public accounting firm.
-Professional Designation required (CA, CGA, and CPA).
-Advanced understanding and expertise knowledge of audit, accounting and taxation (individual & Corp).
-Advance understanding of accounting policies and audit techniques.
-Advance knowledge of various software; Microsoft office (Excel, Word) Caseware, Caseview and Tax Prep.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to prioritize workload and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks.

The successful candidate will supervise and manage junior staff on audit reviews and compilations
