POSITION DESCRIPTION:

-Possess a comprehensive knowledge of theories and principals used in mould polishing, injection molding process, RIM molding process, and various other specialized moulding processes.
-Possess knowledge of hand tools (i.e. super hand, right angle, pencil grinder, disc grinders).
-Possess a basic understanding of mould making theories and principles.
-Demonstrate the safe handling and flipping of mould components with crane and lifting devices.
-Support and adhere to timelines and job plans for build.
-Ensure all mould components under their direct control are available and accounted for.
-Must verify that customer specifications and company standards are met during the performance of your task(s).
-Willing to support at mould try-outs and repairs.
-Must document all discussions with customers including instructions, etc., collect or pass on information to the customer with or without management, on or off site.
-Participate in benchmarking new tooling and equipment and provide accurate, timely feedback.
-Ensure that all tooling and extra stock items are returned to the proper location immediately after use.

When Team Leader is unavailable:

-Support the efficient use of manpower on all shifts and maintain consistent 2nd (&3rd) shift manpower.
-Ensure time tickets are prepared properly (job numbers, codes, hours) and in a timely manner.
-Utilize the Non-conformance Process to provide accurate, detailed documentation of all issues, non-conformances or constraints that cause rework or tool delay and understand why this has occurred.
-Able to travel for training and investigative purposes.
-Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abide by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, and promote safety in the workplace.
-Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior.
-Adhere to applicable quality systems and Support the total Management System (MAFACT, WCM, and ISO-9001).
-Adhere to and promote the Magna Employee Charter; work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Employee Handbook and follow all instructions, policies and procedures.
-Participate in and support Continuous Improvement and WCM initiatives.
-Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards; Ensure work area is kept neat and organized.
-Perform other duties as required.

COMPENSATION:

$26/per hour.

EDUCATION:

-Minimum completion of Grade 12 Diploma.
-College Diploma in a Trade or Technical Field, or equivalent experience an asset.

EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have:

Previous mould polishing experience, preferably in the Automotive Manufacturing industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
-Results-oriented and able to work under pressure.
-Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to analyze issues and situations and make necessary decisions.
