THE OPPORTUNITY:

In this role, you will work alongside and provide support to some of Canada’s most talented lawyers. In addition to consulting with lawyers and clients, you will also act as a mentor to junior and intermediate clerks within the corporate services division.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

-Maintain files to ensure that information is current and up to date.
-Prepare, review and amend commercial and sublease agreements, lease surrenders and/or renewals.
-Collaborate with fellow lawyers to negotiate commercial leases.
-Prepare lease abstract forms.
-Professionally communicate with other departments and clients on a regular basis.
-Conduct lease reviews on a regular basis.
-Manage sublease content matters and assignments.
-Assist with all other legal and administrative duties while coordinating and assisting lawyers with assigned matters.

EXPERIENCE:  In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have:

-At least 3 to 5 years’ experience with the duties listed above or as a Commercial Leasing Law Clerk.
-Completion of a post-secondary law clerk program.
-Superior of MS Office Suite skills.
-Prior exposure to Real Estate law is an ASSET.
-Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
-Highly motivated, detailed orientated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
-Exceptional administrative, time management and organizational skills.
-Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when needed.
-Willingness to occasionally work overtime as needed with the business demands.
