THE OPPORTUNITY:

Due to their ongoing growth, they are now seeking to add a Controls Engineer to their team.  While experience is preferred, they are also willing to consider a recent graduate with a strong academic background in controls.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The successful applicant will:

  • Coordinate/solicit suggestions from Maintenance, Production, and Engineering for improvements to equipment reliability, safety cycle time, etc.
  • Investigate, implement, and document suggestions for improvements
  • Update electrical documentation (hardware/software) and pneumatic & hydraulic with Mechanical Engineers
  • Maintain PLC, robot programming, and hardware standards
  • Coordinate equipment modifications with production, maintenance and engineering
  • Review approval drawings for new equipment
  • Ensure all equipment meets Ontario Hydro Inspections
  • Provide technical expertise/support for maintenance and production
  • Assist in design of new equipment
  • Assist in installation/commissioning of new equipment

EXPERIENCE: Our client is looking for applicants with the following:

  • 5 years of experience preferably in automation controls
  • PLC Programming experience (Siemens, Rockwell)
  • Robot programming/maintenance experience (Nachi, Engel & Wittmann)
  • Vision Systems programming/maintenance experience (Keyence, IFM & Cognex)
  • Good understanding of pneumatics and servo hydraulics
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards

COMPENSATION: 

$50,000-$70,000 plus comprehensive benefits

EDUCATION: 

Diploma or degree in electronics
