THE COMPANY:

Our client, a large high profile retail Manufacturer of Apparel, is looking for a Inventory Control Analyst to liaise between supply chain inventory control and other areas of business to which raw materials are transacted upon.   

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This is a 1 year contract opportunity with the potential of being hired on as a  permanent employee after that duration.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose:

The Inventory Control Analyst, will work as a liaison between supply chain inventory control and other areas of the business to which raw materials are transacted upon.  The candidate will enforce inventory control SOPs and establish best practices with cross functional teams to ensure ongoing inventory accuracy and minimize raw material inventory shrinkage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be an “on the floor presence” for the production and QA teams to help with inventory control management
  • Act as a gatekeeper for inventory control SOPs with other departments, ensuring ongoing inventory accuracy
  • Report out on inventory accuracy in non-cycle counted warehouses weekly
  • Establish best practices for inventory control from a human intervention and a system perspective
  • Be a resource for support regarding inventory related transactions in the system
  • Minimize raw material inventory shrinkage through policies, procedures and educating business partners
  • Assist in physical counts
  • Work with the inventory control team to ensure transactions are correctly posted in the system, and explain any variances in physical to system inventory

Experience, Education and Designations:

  • College Diploma or Bachelor degree in business, finance or supply chain equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an inventory control/finance/process improvement related role
  • MRP experience desired, AX experience preferred
  • CSCMP and / or APICS certification an asset
  • Experience dealing with raw materials in the apparel industry an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application
  • Ability to extract data from multiple systems/sources and then make recommendations
  • High sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Challenges the status quo and looks for continuous process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, ability to work with other departments
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 3 hours during inventory counts

COMPENSATION:

This 1 year contract offers a very competitive salary.

EDUCATION:

College Diploma or Bachelor Degree in business or supply chain equivalent.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

1 year contract with the potential of being hired on as a permanent employee after that duration.
