THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Division Director of Human Resources is a crucial strategic business partner, reporting to the Division VP and working with the Division’s management team across all Transportation and Logistics businesses.  The Division Director is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic HR programs and policies, leading a strong team of HR professionals in implementing efficient and effective HR services that complement company performance.

Practical business logic and a hands-on attitude allows the Division Director to contribute to the operational and organizational success of the business. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and influencing skills and be skilful at building relationships and fostering teamwork from the front line to the leadership team.  In addition, the successful candidate must be well versed in up-to-date HR best practice and have a proven track record in developing and executing strategies that support the company's journey towards world class HR.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Help to develop talent within the company in order to meet current and future needs. Manage apprentice and leadership development programs
  • Provide leadership and guidance for the creation and implementation of consistent HR programs and policies across the organization
  • Ensure HR fundamentals and processes are provided on time and with the highest quality standards
  • Implement and execute initiatives and projects to support the HR vision
  • Manage change and communication with internal and external contacts in relation to processes, people and systems.
  • Determine the best practices for HR business partner service levels and relationships
  • Coach and develop HR Business Partners. Execute effective and efficient HR services that drive company performance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders (COE, Shared Services, management, external agencies, etc.) on all human resources matters 

EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have: 

  •      10 + years' relevant experience in Human Resources, with some experience in a leadership capacity
  •      A CPHR designation or equivalent
  •      Strong personal credibility, influencing and communication skills
  •      Exposure to Continuous Improvement tools, methodologies and culture is an asset
  •      Previous experience working within a Shared Services business model is an asset
  •      Experience and a proven track record working in both non-unionized and unionized environments is an asset

COMPENSATION:

Competitive base salary with excellent benefits.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline
