They have a strong client base, a long history of success, a solid balance sheet, and an impressive IT infrastructure. Over their long history they have continually extended their high standards of client service to their recruitment efforts and hire only the best and brightest within the industry.

A staple of the Canadian landscape, this large, progressive, and highly successful transportation powerhouse provides vast opportunities for a dedicated, talented and motivated logistics professional to expand their horizons, bring about change and have far-reaching influence.

Boasting a reputation as one of Canada’s best-managed companies, this organization prides itself on staying at the forefront of the industry and being adaptive to business trends. THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client wishes to secure their position in Canada as a dominant player in Eastern Canada by adding an extremely talented General Manager to their exciting and dynamic team. This initiative has complete Senior Executive and Board Room level support and, as a result, the successful candidate will be provided with all the tools and resources required to ensure success.

Taking the mantle of leadership for this large, efficient and effective team of dedicated transportation professionals in Montreal, you are well positioned to make an immediate and influential impact on the organization as a whole. Obviously operational expertise is essential but of paramount importance are the strong leadership qualities required to foster a positive working environment leading to ever higher levels of employee engagement and satisfaction. Not to be overshadowed is the ability to perform well in front of the client; in a senior management role such as this, client-facing activities are a big part of the job and a certain amount of sales acumen is required!

Your overall goal will be to provide exceptional International Freight & Customs Brokerage services to the client’s customers in Eastern Canada in a manner that maximize revenue and GP growth. Thus the perfect candidate will be an expert in International Air, InternationalOcean freight, Customs Brokerage, Ground Brokerage and Warehousing services!

Wholly responsible for the P/L, you will maximize the utilization of all company assets such to realize strong margins and overall profitability. Given the full P&L responsibility of this role, financial acumen and experience with same will also be a key consideration.

The capacity to mentor, motivate and manage a team is a given. The drive to push top line growth while simultaneously instituting organizational efficiencies such to elicit a robust bottom line would be similarly assumed and expected at a minimum.

This role, being domiciled in Montreal, will obviously lend itself to someone who is fluently bilingual in both French and English; however, we are willing to entertain masterful communicators in English for whom improving their French from middling to good is of personal interest!

I look forward to providing more “color” to this role in finer detail with all qualified and interested parties.
