THE COMPANY:

Our client is a privately-owned manufacturer of mid- to high-end residential furniture.  In business for over 30 years, they supply products to a wide range of chain and independent furniture stores throughout Canada and the US.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

They are currently looking for a Junior Assistant Accountant to join their Finance group and assume responsibility for AP and AR duties.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include: 

  • Day to day accounting in accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in the management of customer credit limits and Credit releases.
  • Assist in customer collections and overdue balances management.
  • Assist in issuance of credit notes based on authorizations.
  • Match AP invoices with receiving reports.
  • Post AP invoices.
  • Match Sales invoices with delivery slips and bills of lading
  • Post and mail Sales invoices
  • Post customer receipts and journal entries.
  • Print Accounting reports
  • Post bank payments 

EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have: 

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience performing AP/AR duties for a manufacturer;
  • Experience frequently using accounting software and Microsoft Excel;
  • Native language proficiency in English.

COMPENSATION: 

The compensation will be of interest to candidates currently earning in the high $30Ks.

Post-secondary diploma in Accounting, Business or Finance
