Our client is an industry leader and privately owned Canadian company that focuses on providing high quality food products for retail and foodservice.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

You will bring your skills within the area of employee/labour relations both developing and implementing solutions to contribute to plant success.  Reporting to a Director, you will be the subject matter expert, assisting facilities in Ontario and Western Canada.  You will be completing critical analysis and providing solutions to all levels within this organization multiple facilities within a wide variety of labour and employment related issues. You will work closely with managers, union representatives and Human Resources to identify, develop and implement effective strategies to minimize disputes. Interpreting collective agreements, corporate policies, legislation and employment based case law will fall under you umbrella.

EXPERIENCE:       In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have: 

  • 5 years union experience
  • Strong understanding of employee and labour relations
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret employment based legislation in multiple provinces
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Strong influencing and  negotiation skills
  • Diploma/degree in Industrial Relations LL.B or M.I.R is an asset

COMPENSATION:

80-100K plus bonus and benefits
