THE COMPANY:

Our client, a successful Property Management firm with a strong presence in the Ontario market, is looking for an Accounting Supervisory with strong property management experience.   They are looking for someone to oversee a team of 4 property accounts and the financials for a large portfolio of properties.  They are an organization that has a solid reputation for repositioning their properties in the market place to ensure they are creating wonderful communities for their tenants, which has resulted in extensive growth over the years.  This means there are opportunities for the successful incumbent to grow with the organization and further develop their skillset in the Property Management sector.  They provide an engaging work place for their staff and a positive image in the Region.  

THE OPPORTUNITY:

  • Overseeing a team of 4 Property Accountants, the Accounting Supervisor’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Coaching, mentoring and providing leadership to a team of Property Accountants
  • Ensuring team meets deadlines and work is completed with accuracy
  • Assisting in compiling financial reports for senior management
  • Analyze monthly, quarterly and annual reports providing status updates to senior managers
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis reports for senior managers
  • Assist with yearend audit packages
  • Special projects as required by senior management 

EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 3+ years experience in Property Accounting
  • Working towards accounting designation ideal
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager an asset
  • Experience in rental property management ideal, but may consider Condo and/or commercial experience
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel knowledge is also key)
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years experience in Property Accounting
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager an asset

EDUCATION:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Working towards accounting designation ideal

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

Full time, permanent role

$65-72 K
