THE OPPORTUNITY:

Experiencing explosive growth due to their focus on providing technical excellence and exemplary customer service while also maintaining a friendly, collegial and nurturing work environment for their employees, they are looking for someone who assumes intricate role in their project team, as a principle representative to customers managing the entire international shipment from quote to delivery while at the same time responsible for timely, efficient and cost-effective movement, routing and quoting of international freight.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  •   Coordinating and handling the outgoing ocean freight shipments for the division. The effective and efficient handling of these shipments to ensure continuous cargo flow while at the same time respecting company policies and objectives.
  •   Prepare documentation, route shipments, distribute documents and make copies in accordance with company and/or destination country requirements.
  •   Trace shipments through all transit points up to final destination, and proactively advise customer and management if there are any issues
  •   Negotiate freight rates with Ocean carriers and warehouses when needed.
  •   Request ocean bookings with ocean carriers, submit shipping instructions, and check and approve BL Drafts.
  •   Communicate with suppliers to arrange pick up appointments, and a smooth product pickup and port delivery.
  •   Prepare export documentation, including Commercial Invoice, Certificate of Origin, Packing List,
  •   Comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines; proactively identify potential issues and work to resolve quickl 

COMPENSATION

Competitive and comprehensive compensation program commensurate with experience

Knowledge, Experience and Skills: 

  • Post-Secondary education is required 
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the freight forwarding industry 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web based and job specific software applications
