THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client is looking for a Director to lead cross-border and domestic road and air freight operations, meeting revenue and profitability goals as outlined by the company budgetary and policy requirements while providing extraordinary customer service and class leading employee development.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Manage operations within the area of responsibility.
  • Prepare annual Transborder Budget.
  • Develop and maintain revenue by making and or assisting Sales in joint sales calls.
  • Minimize controllable costs to ensure file revenue is maximized.
  • Negotiate favorable buying rates with applicable carriers.
  • Responsible for personnel – hiring, terminating, promotion or demotions by identifying and implementing staffing requirements.
  • Evaluate personnel by completing yearly performance reviews.
  • Ensure all personnel receive appropriate training. 

EXPERIENCE:  In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have:

  • Minimum 5 years in the freight forwarding industry with a proven track record in Operations.
  • Previous Management experience.
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical and administration skills.
  • Able to motivate personnel.
  • Previous commercial experience would be an asset. 

COMPENSATION:

Our client is offering a competitive and comprehensive package including a base salary, up to 5% matched RRSP contributions, plus a strong benefit package

University degree or commensurate work experience.
