THE OPPORTUNITY:

This is an opportunity to join a Global Logistics Company and develop your career by working with a qualified team of professionals.  The Transborder Specialist deals with all aspects of the transaction, from initial customer contact, through shipment booking and delivery, to file completion and billing.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Build relationships with preferred carriers, developing and negotiating rates.
  • Provide spot quotes to internal and external customers.
  • Enter spot quotes into system for measurement.
  • Assist with issuance and development of published tariffs and customer negotiated tariffs.
  • Follow up with Carriers on bookings. Provide information to customers, close out files in the system (i.e. quote to invoice).
  • Team and customer support.
  • Be willing to accept stretch assignments (i.e. – carrier database creation, rate matrix validations and updating, new regulatory measures requiring best practice instructions. 

EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have:

  • Minimum 1+ years Transportation experience (Trucking).
  • Understanding Freight Forwarding and surface transportation.
  • Transborder trucking – US, Canadian and Mexican Customs regulations.
  • Transportation Licensing, permits and insurance requirements.
  • Consolidation/Deconsolidation of freight understanding.
  • Above average communication and analytical abilities.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Energetic and proactive – willing to undertake challenges.
  • Basic computer skills including Outlook, Office and Microsoft Exel.

COMPENSATION:

Strong compensation package including base salary, up to 5% matched RRSP and a strong benefits suite.

EDUCATION:

CIFFA and/or CITT would be considered an asset.
