POSITION TITLE:

SECTOR DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

COMPENSATION:

$100,000 base, generous bonus structure, company vehicle with gas card and benefits.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Develop and drive strategy and associated activities to promote the company’s brand awareness in the Life Sciences Sector. Promote brand /capability awareness through sector orientated trade associations, publications and OEMs. Serve as a bridge between customers and marketing, providing market feedback and input necessary for developing marketing strategies and programs. The role requires a professional who is also able to enhance the knowledge and skill set of local and national account managers to increase value brought to influencers / decision makers within key target organizations. Identify specific trends and opportunities and works with Regional Sales Managers to coach field sales in uncovering needs and presenting solutions. Travel the country building and promoting the brand.

This Sector Development Manager is an opportunity for a Life Sciences professional who lives for knowing what’s next in the industry and is ready to take the helm and steer the company in that direction. A passionate individual who has years of proven success driving equipment sales, with understanding serialization, coding and marking. You also have to be willing to commit to a life on the road with this role – travelling is a major part of the job.

THE COMPANY:

Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of coding, marking and digital printing solutions, offering some of the newest technology in the market. They are a widely successful company, with decades of experience as an industry leader in their field. Our client is looking for a driven and dedicated professional who understands the life sciences sector and can develop methods that not only increase sales, but also promote a culture of success. 

EXPERIENCE:

-5+ years’ experience in the life sciences, packaging equipment, and/or high-speed coding and marking industries preferred.
-5+ years in a quota driven field sales role.   
-Experience at the plant level, with central engineering, and procurement.  
-Proven history of consistently high sales volumes.
-CRM systems (either Salesforce, Oracle/Siebel, MyCRM, or SAP).
-Basic Business Finance (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow, Interest Rates, Leasing).
-Familiarity and comfort interacting and selling to User buyers, Technical buyers, Economic buyers, and Senior Management.

LOCATION:

Chicago, IL (Open to other locations across United States).

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

Permanent, Full-Time

EDUCATION:

A college or university degree in one of the commerce, accounting, economics, business administration, marketing or engineering disciplines or its equivalent is required for entry into the position.  Additional formal business education would be helpful in achieving segment objectives.
