With offices on 5 continents, you will be working out of the Canadian head office and liaising with branch offices throughout the world to execute efficient and effective shipments by both ocean & air.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Bringing your wealth of knowledge in Ocean Freight (mandatory) and Air Freight (an asset) to this Freight Forwarding organization, you will play a vital and engaging role within this dynamic and inspired team.

Perhaps the most unique aspect of this role comes down to location, location, location; as one of the few logistics companies  in the Toronto “core” anyone whosoever has “had it” with the daily commute from Toronto to the mecca of Freight Forwarding, Mississauga, will be clamouring to consider this exciting opportunity. If that wasn’t good enough, they are conveniently located just a short 5 minute walk from the subway!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The perfect candidate will be knowledgeable in the practices pertaining to Import and Export movement of International Freight by Ocean and Air. Any additional education specific to the industry such as courses towards your CIFFA certification is a bonus.

Our client seeks an experienced Import/Export Coordinator with an extensive operational background and a high level of technical proficiency. You will be tasked with preparing documentation as it pertains to commercial shipments for the moving of international freight the world over. This important role will see you coordinating and collaborating with CBSA, overseas agents, carriers, in addition to their clients in order to keep all parties informed and apprised of shipment status, while ensuring that import/export traffic moves according to carefully planned scheduling. Prior experience moving food grade products, inclusive of beverages, is also a significant asset.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 or more years’ experience resulting in an excellent understanding of the freight forwarding business – AIR and OCEAN experience is required.
  • Fluency in English (verbal/written) – additional languages an asset.
  • CIFFA certification an asset.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent understanding of customer needs – particularly within the ocean/air freight forwarding industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
