THE COMPENSATION:

Excellent, comprehensive and complete compensation package on offer! Salary of $70,000/year, plus medical and dental benefits, pension AND 3 weeks of vacation.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This is an opportunity for a permanent position for a Millwright to work on an afternoon shift typically, 3.30pm to midnight (some flexibility for overtime may be required).  The Millwright must have the ability to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and electrical distribution.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Report food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Ensure that all work is performed according to pertinent GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFIA and all established regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install, align, dismantle and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Operate hoist machinery.
  • Inspect and examine machinery equipment to detect, investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and programmable logic controls.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Construct foundations for machinery.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand, power tools and welding equipment.
  • PLC experience.
  • Attending all job training sessions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Ideally 3-5 years of recent work experience in the trade and/or food industry.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, as well as parts fabrication.
