WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

THE COMPANY:

The Company has been established as a respected chemical supplier for over 50 years. During that time they have continued to grow and prosper, expanding their warehouse with products for new lines and new services. They are conveniently located in North York.

COMPENSATION:

$60,000 base with excellent benefits.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Company’s core values are quality and service, and you will be a primary contributor to their overall success by doing an outstanding job supervising the day-to-day operations and warehouse personnel. You will work closely with the logistics and order team. The Warehouse Supervisor is primarily responsible for the management of products moving in and out of the warehouse. The candidate will also supervise and assist the warehouse employees to ensure safety and productivity is kept to a high standard.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As the Warehouse Supervisor, you are responsible for overseeing the safety, productivity and efficiency of warehouse operations. You will be supervising employees and monitoring operational flow to create a culture of safety and family, while ensuring all shipments are received and sent with no error. A successful candidate will have effectively demonstrated an ability to supervise, lead, and communicate effectively with a small team. This individual should possess strong attention to detail, dedication to safety, and a drive to provide quality in their work.

The role oversees a small team and is primarily focused in the shipping and receiving of chemical ingredients. As Supervisor you will ensure all scheduling is on-time and warehouse space is used to its maximum efficiency. This is a straight day shift role, there is no managing multiple shifts. EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years’ Warehouse experience, with at least 2 years in a Supervisory/Managerial capacity.
  • Experience shipping/receiving chemical ingredients domestically and internationally preferred.
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of staff, management and 3PL distribution channels.
  • Basic computer literacy and comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (specifically Excel), with experience with Sage X3, or similar ERP system considered an asset.
  • Previous experience safely operating lift trucks (Linde trucks on site).
  • Ability to provide oversight of stock transfers between distribution center and warehousing facilities.
  • Ensure proper process and documentation is maintained relating to receipt, movement, product storage integrity and shipping of product and components.
  • Take ownership of scheduling, training, mentoring and, where required, counselling of warehouse staff to ensure adherence to H&S policies and guidelines.
  • Fully utilize the Warehouse Management System in order to maximize productivity and inventory integrity.
  • Ensure all monitoring systems and QC mandated programs are being properly adhered to and documented.
  • Excellent communication, work management, collaboration and task delegation skills.
  • Able to work with tight deadlines in a multi-task, high priority environment.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift license required.
  • Direct experience managing, training and coaching others.
  • Previous forklift experience required (Linde trucks on site).
  • Experience dealing with chemicals/dangerous goods (GHS/TDG).
  • Previous WHIMIS and Safety Training an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Federal, Provincial, and Municipal, industry compliance including WHMIS, TDG, OHSA, WSIB, HACAP, ISO, and environmental.
  • First Aid certified considered an asset.
