POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for global demand fulfillment, safety, quality and materials management.

This role encompasses the entire end-to-end 'supply' scope - from the receiving of purchased goods, through the comprehensive planning and to the effective delivery of the final goods to customers. (Procurement responsibilities are excluded from this scope.)

This position will provide leadership to the Supply Chain and Logistics teams to become change agents that promote continuous improvement, coach and teach associates, and deliver results that exceed customer expectations.

The Director of Supply Chain will develop and implement integrated supply chain strategies that align with long-range plans as well as ensure sustainable competitive advantages. 

The goal is to develop people, processes and systems to create high performance and build a team-based culture.

Reporting to the President, this position will encompass a few primary areas of responsibility:

  1. Supply Chain functions including planning, logistics, and materials management.
  2. Various company-operated and/or 3rd party warehouse, distribution and fulfillment sites for primary equipment and materials as well as after aftermarket spare parts across the world.

 EXPERIENCE:

The Director of Supply Chain role requires high levels of strategic vision, transformational leadership, critical thinking, attention to detail, organizational and planning expertise, negotiation strategies, and solid judgment to execute key functions.


This role requires ample executive level discretion to make optimal decisions that have a direct and major impact on the operation and financial well-being of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Develop a supply chain strategy that meets corporate performance objectives as well as customer expectations.
  • Establish supply chain management best practices in areas such as systems integration and optimization, inventory control, and demand planning.
  • Optimize processes to ensure delivery of supplies and improve supply chain metrics in terms of cost and service.
  • Establish the distribution and logistics strategy to competitively fulfill demand and optimize inventory levels.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of large capital equipment manufacturing.
  • Technical proficiency in all areas of manufacturing, supply chain management, and quality systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing systems, processes, products, and customers.

  • Understand and manage the components and key drivers of COGS, operating overhead, and capital expenditures in order to enhance the organization's financial performance.

  • Experience in managing a large diverse team across multiple facilities.
  • Experience in upgrading teams, processes and systems.
  • Excellent leadership skills, as evidenced by a track record of hiring, retaining, developing and motivating top manufacturing and supply chain talent.
  • A strong communicator with effective presentation skills utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint
