THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Branch Manager is responsible for the efficient daily administration and operation of the branch office, including operations, customer service, business development and safety in keeping with corporate objectives. They will provide leadership, training and supervision for all employees as well as manage and direct the ongoing development of the branch. Objectives to meet include revenue and profit targets, sales goals and employee satisfaction and retention KPIs.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Ensure that the Branch is meeting budgets and forecasts by preparing appropriate annual, monthly and weekly plans and ensuring that each department understands how they fit into the Branch's plans.
  • Set reasonable goals with deadlines for completion. Monitor compliance and achievement of these targets.
  • See that all departments have the correct tools, knowledge and data to work effectively, serve our clients and uphold the company objectives.
  • Assist departments in resolving conflicting objectives and reinforce continuously respectful communication between all departments.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining quality service at all times.
  • Develop a working understanding of the company's clients through telephone calls, meetings and industry events. Ensure that all reasonable client requests are diligently actioned.
  • Work with CSMD to develop new business opportunities.
  • Ensure that the Branch operates according to all Company and legislated requirements, in regards to Employment standards, Health and Safety, Human rights, Quality management and Accounting standards.
  • Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training; planning assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Provide a safe environment for all branch employees and take every necessary precaution or procedure to reduce the risk of accidents occurring.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 10 years of industry related work experience, 5 years of which was in a managerial or supervisory role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management.
  • Adequate knowledge of WHMIS and relevant provincial Health and Safety laws
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software products, including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to speak clearly and confidently in all business settings. 
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to remain objective in stressful situations.
  • Proven management and leadership abilities with sound decision making and judgement.
  • The ability to delegate, set expectations and monitor progress of all direct reports while motivating, inspiring and accepting feedback to and from employees.
  • Excellent organizational, and time management skills to manage and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to develop, maintain and adapt action plans to achieve business targets.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
