They are currently seeking a Regional Maintenance Manager to join their team in managing a well-established, yet continually growing portfolio within the Montreal area. Our client has a solid reputation for success and credibility. COMPENSATION:

$85-95K plus additional perks

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Work closely with senior management and site management to build strategic property maintenance programs for assets
  • Identify, schedule and execute preventative maintenance projects as required, ensuring properties adhere to company standards
  • Responsible for the day to day management, assigning/scheduling/directing daily maintenance work orders to the Maintenance Teams that are beyond the skill set of Building Manager's or live in Maintenance Associates, and managing performance
  • Obtain, review and approve quotes from contractors for repairs & maintenance and creates Purchase Orders for larger building maintenance components
  • Work with the Capital & Development teams, to oversee the progress of capital projects in the Region by contributing to efforts that ensure the project timelines and other deliverables are being met
  • Communicate and escalate any matters, which may warrant further investigation
  • Perform all facets of the job in accordance with the legislation applicable to the jurisdiction, including: Health and Safety standards, WHMIS, AODA, PIPEDA and Human Rights
  • Comply with health & safety procedures ensuring the use of required safety equipment and identifying unsafe practices and conditions while maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Management of completion and compliance of various forms and checklists for such items as boiler room checks, snow logs, and generators as well as Fire orders, TSSA orders and City orders
  • First respond to after-hours emergencies
  • Support and train Team Members on routine maintenance repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general maintenance and any other maintenance activities required for completing service requests, as well as customer service
  • Lead and manage the Yardi Maintenance Workflow system and ensure all team members understand and use the system daily
  • Participate in the development of the Repairs & Maintenance section of the annual property and Capital Maintenance budgets

EXPERIENCE:

IN ORDER TO BE COMPETITIVE FOR THIS POSITION, YOU WILL HAVE:

Post-secondary education in construction, engineering or a mechanical trade is considered a strong asset

  • 8+ years of maintenance or related experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle
  • Flexibility to work on-call should emergencies happen after hours
  • Experience managing a team of 5+ individuals
  • Proficient with use of basic handheld and electrical tools
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpentry, painting, mechanical and HVAC systems etc.
  • Experience working within the multi-residential, long term care, hospitality, or other related industry asset class would be considered an asset. Individuals with commercial or institutional facilities management will also be considered as long they have managed a large team of technicians/operators
  • Computer savvy with a technical competence
  • Experience working with budgets and tracking expenses is a definite asset
  • Knowledge of the Yardi to track maintenance work orders through Workflow system an asset
  • WHMIS certified would be considered an asset
