POSITION DESCRIPTION:

In collaboration with a talented team of professionals, as the Human Resources Manager you will provide overall human resources support to our client's manufacturing facilities in Montreal. This includes duties and responsibilities pertaining to recruitment, workers' compensation claims management, H&S, and other HR-related duties.

As a trusted asset for employees you will be looked to, and relied upon, to ensure the company's human resources initiatives, programs and practices are in keeping with the needs of the organization and implemented with success.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Recruitment related activities, talent acquisition efforts and initiatives.
  • Workers' compensation claims management.
  • Provide HR expertise to management as it pertains to employee relations matters, helping employees navigate, grasp and apply appropriate policies.
  • Exhibit a keen understanding of workforce relations and how they apply to the organization.
  • Recommend and assist with employee training opportunities. Including communicating, marketing, coordinating and scheduling engaging training events.
  • Emphasize and encourage continuous learning and improvement opportunities, in coordination with management's goals and priorities.
  • Embrace being the first point of contact for appropriate employee inquiries.
  • Conflict resolution and investigating of HR-related complaints.
  • Fully grasp, and ensure compliance with, appropriate employment legislation such as the Human Rights Act, Employment Equity Act, Workers Compensation Act, Occupational H&S Act, etc.
  • Support H&S programs to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Conduct commensurate offboarding activities, such as employee exits, exit interviews, ensuring legal/contractual compliance, etc.
  • Support and implement other various HR projects and initiatives as need be and as they arise.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in manufacturing industry a MUST.
  • Prior experience in distribution and warehousing an ASSET.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Stellar grammar, business and report writing abilities.
  • An excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Strong familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and HRIS)
